Head Material:

• Rounded profile reflects contemporary club aesthetics
• Oversize .395 shaft tip increases torsional stability, reducing the shot dispersion on off-center hits whether heel or toe
• The Citation II’s incorporate an offset that is progressively greater as the clubs get longer
• Progressive offset offers more needed help to get the ball airborne in the long irons and more control in the shorter irons where that is the priority
• Flow weighted cavity back. Weight is concentrated toward the toe of the long irons for help in getting the ball up in a straight line and more toward the heel in the short irons for spin and distance control
• Low CG (Center of Gravity) design to help get the ball up quickly
• Recognized by the PowerBilt traditional “cracked egg”. Otherwise known as the Lightning Bolt
Originating in 1916 when John Hillerich, the great-grandfather of current CEO and President John Hillerich IV and founder of the Louisville Slugger company, first started making golf clubs from persimmon, the Powerbilt brand produced the finest line of persimmon woods in the golf industry. In 1934, Olin Dutra used the new PowerBilt clubs to capture the U.S. Open by one stroke over Gene Sarazen. Throughout the 1960s, 70s and 80s PowerBilt Citation Persimmon Woods were the standard by which all drivers and fairway woods were judged. During the 1980s alone, PowerBilt clubs won two-dozen events on the PGA Seniors/Champions Tour.
