The designers placed tungsten weights inside the hollow areas of the sole (mostly heel and toe) to improve forgiveness. Stiffening the clubface in the toe area is intended to promote a draw.
Middle-Handicapper:
“The look is compact, but they go super long and straight.”
High-Handicapper:
“They’ve succeeded with some topline trickery here, making it look about half as wide as it really is. The look is slick and the ball comes off hot.”
Hot:
Often a club loaded with high-tech features fails to provide a solid strike and pleasing sound. Not so here. The sound and feel qualities that attract golfers to TaylorMade clubs is on display here, too, and the face is hotter than a dog’s breath.
Not:
No matter how hot the ball comes off a 4-iron, it doesn’t provide the comfort and confidence of a 4-hybrid.
