Both models have a more flexible face than last year's VR_S. A sole cavity saves weight that is used in the heel and toe for stability. The Covert Tour has less offset, and its loft settings are independent of three face-angle settings.
Low-Handicapper:
"The ball flight is versatile; you can have a fairway-metal trajectory if you want, or you can hit it nice and high and soft."
Middle-Handicapper:
"Impact sounded a little higher in pitch than some, but it wasn't irritating. The ball jumped off the face, and the flight was piercing."
Hot:
Nike has produced two hybrids with distinct trajectories (higher on the Covert, mid-launch on the Covert Tour), and the sole cavity allows the shape to stay conventional.
Not:
The hosel and swoosh seem big next to the small crown.
