The face has a higher concentration of deeper grooves, plus a laser-etched cross-hatch pattern between the grooves to improve surface roughness. Three new lofts feature a dual-sole design intended to keep the leading edge closer to the ground, even with an open face.
Low-Handicapper:
“I could be more aggressive around the greens than with the other wedges. It had a strong-yet-soft feel—if that’s possible.”
Middle-Handicapper:
“It never dug but could still get under the ball on less-than-perfect lies.”
Hot:
We like the aggressive approach to face technology, and the new sole design makes a strong effort to get high-lofted clubs playing cleaner on partial shots.
Not:
In bright sunlight, those Xs on the face get extra shiny.
