The wedge features a True Temper Gold Spinner shaft and a milled face for increased surface roughness to maximize spin. The shaft’s recessed section near the grip is intended to produce a steeper angle of attack during the downswing to help launch the ball low with more spin.
Low-Handicapper:
“Moves smoothly through the turf with a nice feel. It’s almost like you didn’t feel the ball coming off the face.”
Middle-Handicapper:
“Delicate on short shots, but when you need it to be a brute, it can be.” ... “It has a firm but responsive sound and feel. It’s a players wedge, for sure.”
Hot:
Bridgestone’s irons, including the J40, have had a cult following. This wedge is worthy of some attention, too.
Not:
Five loft/bounce options serve only the most basic of needs.
